Hannah Bike Bus

For riders

• A working bike.
• A well-fitting helmet.
• Able to stay on one half of the road and stop on their own.

We ride on the sidewalk from the starting parking lot to Pickett St. From there we ride on the road with the flow of traffic, surrounded by parent and caregiver volunteers.

We love seeing riders gain confidence and graduate from training wheels. Less experienced riders and those still using training wheels are welcome to join with their parent or caregiver at Montserrat Train Station by Spring St. or along Montserrat Rd, until they’re comfortable keeping up with the group’s pace.

Arriving at Hannah. We ride through the drop-off circle and stay in the car lane all the way to the bike racks. Let’s not take out any pedestrians on the sidewalk!

For parents & caregivers

Come ride along, or volunteer to help our riders get there safely. We always need more volunteers. Each week we assign:

Group Leader

Rides at the front of the pack and makes sure we stop and regroup at every crossing and turn.

Sweeper

Rides at the back and keeps every rider in front of them.

Corks

Stop traffic so the group can cross safely at Pickett St., the left onto Odell, and Spring St. Also at Colon St. and Brimbal Ave. when there are no crossing guards or extra help is needed.
